Thursday 1 December                         Tramp                                                        Rangitoto

Ferry leaves 10.00am from Pier 13 Downtown Ferry Terminal.  Ride takes 25 minutes. Tickets are cheaper if purchased online $43.00 return vs $47.00 walk up.

We will return on either 2.20pm or 3.30pm ferry. Please let me know if intending to come. Also double check timetable when booking, as ferry staff shortages may change sailing times.

Saturday 3 December                         Gadabouts                                                   Mt Eden

Mt Eden Village Craft Fair, 449 Mt Eden Rd – cnr Ngauruhoe St across from Circus Circus Café. Open 9.30am – 3.00pm. Four halls of exclusive artisan hand-made products: homewares, artwork, baby goods, jewellery, skincare, ceramics, toys, confectionery, and clothing. (Also open Saturday 10 Dec).

Sunday 4 December                            Walk                                                Mangere Bridge

My walk will be at Mangere Bridge. This will be a steady walk, mainly flat, 3hrs including lunch. Walk will be over the new Mangere Bridge up to Mangere Domain for lunch. On the return we will walk over the underpass walkway on SH20.

Monday 5 December                             Dog Walk                                      Blockhouse Bay

This is a people friendly walk, dogs welcome too  Flat meander around     Craigavon Park for about one hour, stopping at the cafe at the half way mark.

Saturday 10 December                       Walk                               Ranui – Swanson Suburb,

                                                                                  Walkways & new area Developments.

Walkways, with some pavements and reserves.  Approx 2 hours level walking ending at Swanson. We will meet at Ranui Rail Station. There is plenty of parking here, or at time of planning, train leaves Britomart at 9.24am, Newmarket 9.35am, and Henderson at 10.11am. There is an interesting variety of areas we will see today. On arrival at Swanson there is the chance to have lunch and a coffee at the Station Café or the nearby park. Bring AT card for return trip to Ranui or transport from there to your destination.

Wednesday 14 December                   Walk                                                         Devonport

Easy 2.5 hour walk around Devonport reserves and roads.

Sunday 18 December                      Mod. Walk/Light Tramp           Dacre Cottage, Okura

We will take the track through to Dacre Cottage then walk around the headland towards Stillwater via the beach, returning over the headland track (some steps) to the cottage. Wear shoes with a good grip and bring poles if you use them. This is all off road  2.5 – 3 hours including lunch. Bring your togs if you fancy a swim afterwards.

Bring your own meat to cook and either a salad or dessert to share. Bring

your chair or a rug. Look for Jan or Bob who will be reserving a table.

A leisurely walk along the shoreline and back through Ponsonby. Great harbour views and some history in an older part of Auckland. Bring lunch.

An easy bush tramp, stream crossing, and some farmland in the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park. Approximately 4 hours.

La Fiesta 10.00am – 5.00pm. Enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes, arts, craft, and the dancing of Mexico. A Free Fun Festival at Auckland Art Gallery. Free tasters of tamales from the food market. A mariachi band will be playing over at the Library.

Sunday 15 January                              Walk                              Bush/Beach/Lake – Orewa

Park in Arundel Reserve at the northern end of Orewa Beach. We will walk under the northern bridge in Orewa and proceed to Eve’s Bush, the nikau palms beside us as we walk through this easy track to Kensington Park Village. Then moving on through established housing around this area which will take us to the enchanting lakeside area complete with flowering waterlilys surrounded by cascading willow trees and ducks. This will be our lunch stop. We continue southward along streets to the beach, walking along to the end to where our cars will be.  Coffee at Walnut Cottage, which is close by.

Monday  16 January                              Dog Walk                                                Grey Lynn

Join me  for a one hour stroll through Grey Lynn Park. All welcome, so bring  a dog or a friend with you. We will follow this with coffee at the local cafe.

Sunday 22 January                              Walk                                                         Green Bay

We will walk to the end of Portage Road to Green Bay Reserve then on to Blockhouse Bay Beach and Reserve.   We will be walking mainly on bush tracks with intermittent steps which can be rough. Also some road walking. Sturdy shoes and poles advisable. Call me if you have any queries.  Allow 3 hours and there is the possibility of coffee at Bolton St Café.

From Torbay Heights to Long Bay via 3 reserves, have a swim and lunch at Long Bay then return via 5 small reserves back to Torbay Heights. Some urban walking.

Sunday 29 January                         Walk      Mairangi & Campbells Bay Centennial Park

Walk beach, bush, some streets. Some ups and downs and steps. Bring lunch. About 2.5 hours including lunch. Pace to suit the group. Optional coffee etc at Mairangi Bay afterwards.

Sunday 5 February                        Walk           Taumanu Bay & Onehunga Bay Reserves

Mostly flat walking in attractive coastal settings. We will leave from the car park of Onehunga Train Station (OTS) heading west on Prince St to former military barracks; on to Onehunga Bay Reserve (OBR) circuit; and over Beachcroft Rd Bridge to Taumanu Bay Reserve (TBR). Both reserves have a toilet. After lunch we will: continue west along Waikowhai Coastal Walkway; around Seacliff hill and down to TBR; east along coastal walkway to the TBR overbridge; into OBR and back to train station car park.

Optional coffee break at Gastropub Café. This walk will take about 2.5 hours, including 20 minutes for lunch.
